Elon Musk X no longer displays the Bitcoin (BTC) hash emoji (hashmoji) and this new development has sparked concern among the Bitcoin community on the social media platform.

The absence of the BTC hash emoji came to the attention of some X users and at a later time, one Dogecoin team member “DogeDesigner” (@cb_doge), confirmed the removal.

Bitcoin enthusiasts are wondering what could have led Elon Musk‘s X to pull out the emoji. All that is left is a Bitcoin hashtag. Noteworthy, other crypto hashmojis are also not on X anymore.
Several Bitcoin enthusiasts and influencers have commented on the removal. Even JAN3 boss Samson Mow, who is an early Bitcoin adopter, BTC millionaire Jeremy Davinci, and trader @TheMoonCarl have all weighed in on the matter.
The DOGE team member who doubles as an X promoter could not provide more details or explanation to the sudden removal. This lack of information has left the crypto community more puzzled. This development is translating to heated discussion on the “free speech” app.
Twitter co-founder and its former CEO Bitcoiner Jack Dorsey added the said hashmoji when he was in the company. With Musk and Linda Yaccarino, X CEO, now at the helm of affairs, the removal must have come from them.
Is Elon Musk Attending the 2024 Bitcoin Conference?
Generally, Musk has made headlines this past week for a couple of different reasons. Recently, crypto enthusiasts took to social media to voice their speculations about the Tesla CEO attending the 2024 Bitcoin Conference.
His arrival at Tennessee on July 21 ignited the conversations. Additionally, he changed his profile picture to one with a laser eye for a while before removing it.
The picture appeared suggestive as it is a popular trend within the BTC network to show support in the future of the coin. Musk, however, claimed his Tennessee visit involved other projects, one of which is his Artificial Intelligence (AI) model Grok. Notably, the conference is ongoing and no official report has confirmed Musk’s attendance.
