Telegram Launches Move-to-Earn Game StepMania: Details

To further drive its ecosystem, the Telegram app now plays host to StepMania, its pioneering move-to-earn game

A new fitness app called StepMania is gaining popularity on Telegram. According to reports, the app lets users turn their daily step counts into digital rewards. The app combines fitness tracking with gaming and blockchain technology, allowing users to earn in-game benefits by staying active.

StepMania Token to be Launched Soon

Notably, StepMania plans to launch a token on The Open Network (TON) to provide a fun way to stay healthy while earning rewards.

Meanwhile, StepMania works well with Apple Health and Google Health Connect. Players can partake in different features like leaderboards, squad challenges, and tournaments hosted by influencers. This creates a sense of competition and community, motivating users to achieve their fitness goals.

It is worth noting that the app is inspired by the “move-to-earn” model, which started with platforms like Stepn on the Solana blockchain. However, StepMania is different because it does not require users to buy NFTs to start earning token rewards. This makes it easier for anyone with a Telegram account and compatible devices to join without any upfront costs.

Furthermore, StepMania will offer rewards linked to a token that will be launched on The Open Network (TON). This launch is part of a growing trend in the fitness and blockchain fields, where users can earn digital rewards by staying active.

Gamified Apps and the Telegram Ecosystem

It is worth noting that several gaming activity apps have been launched on Telegram, boosting its ecosystem. The Telegram Tap-to-Earn game Catizen launched its CATI token for trading on several centralized exchanges in 2024. The design of Catizen’s initiatives allows participants to generate additional rewards by leveraging their existing assets in the game.

In other related news, Hamster Kombat, a tap-to-earn game, was launched on the Telegram Open Network in 2024.

The initiative debuted in March and swiftly gained popularity, with over 300 million user accounts currently signed up to play the game. Interestingly, some TON tokens explored the GameFi space by integrating with Telegram and the TON ecosystem. With it, users were offered a new experience that mixed entertainment with crypto.

As BGECrypto reported earlier, analysts forecast more increases for TON in the coming years. Positive sentiments in the Toncoin ecosystem are being encouraged by the rising adoption of Telegram mini-game applications like Notcoin (NOT) and Dogecoin (DOGS), amongst others.
